Kohima: In the run-up to the 9th Captain N. Kenguruse, Maha Vir Chakra (Posthumous) Memorial Football Tournament scheduled to begin on October 22, a colourful road show has been launched across Nagaland.
Organised by the Assam Rifles in collaboration with the Nagaland Football Association, the campaign celebrates the legacy of Captain Neikezhakuo Kenguruse — the Kargil War hero remembered for his extraordinary courage and lasting inspiration to the youth.
Held under the theme “One State, One Game, One Goal,” the road show aims to foster unity, sportsmanship, and excitement for the tournament. Events have already been held in Kohima, Phek, and Zunheboto, with the campaign continuing today in Chipobozou, Tseminyu, and Wokha.
The memorial tournament continues to stand as a powerful tribute to Capt. Kenguruse, blending the spirit of football with the values of bravery and camaraderie he embodied.
