Lakhipur: Minister Kaushik Rai on Tuesday took part in the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Tilka Nachghar construction at Pubda GP under the Lakhipur Assembly constituency. The project is being built under the Barak Valley Development Department with a sanctioned amount of Rs.35 lakh.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister said the Barak Valley Development Department was formed with the aim of ensuring overall development of the valley. He also highlighted the importance of focused financial support for tea garden areas, which have long remained neglected.

Kaushik Rai expressed his sincere gratitude to Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma for creating the dedicated department and for approving funds to improve infrastructure and cultural spaces in rural and tea garden regions.

Local residents welcomed the initiative and said the Tilka Nachghar would help preserve traditional culture and provide a common space for community activities.
