Burnpur : In a significant step towards its brownfield capacity expansion, IISCO Steel Plant (ISP) of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has signed a contract with Larsen & Toubro Limited, Minerals & Metals for the installation of Wagon Tippler and Stacker & Reclaimer (Package No. RMHS-01).
The project, scheduled for completion within 36 months, will add two Hybrid Twin Tandem Rotary Wagon Tipplers to the existing raw material handling system, enhancing reliability and efficiency in unloading operations.
Part of SAIL-ISP’s ambitious expansion via the BF-BOF route, the project supports the upcoming 5650 m³ Blast Furnace, designed to boost crude steel production by 4.08 MTPA.
Senior officials stated that the development will strengthen production capacity, improve operational efficiency, and meet India’s rising steel demand. This contract reinforces SAIL-ISP’s commitment to modernization, capacity growth, and sustainable industrial progress.
