Silchar : In a commendable humanitarian effort, Delhi-based social organization Seeds India has extended timely support to nearly 500 flood-affected families in the Udarbond constituency, Cachar district. Over the past five days, the organization has distributed essential relief materials free of cost at the residence of local social worker Moniton Singha.

The beneficiaries, many of whom were reportedly left out of formal government assistance, received a comprehensive kit of 15 necessary items. These included two types of toothbrushes, toothpaste, bathing soap, sanitary pads, mosquito repellent cream, plastic buckets with mugs, combs, clothes-washing soap, and polythene kits of two different sizes. The relief materials aimed to address both hygiene and daily utility needs of the flood-hit families.

Speaking on the concluding day of the distribution drive on Saturday morning, Sunny Gehlot, Senior Manager of Seeds India, stated, “For the last 24 years, our organization has been working across India wherever natural disasters strike. Be it floods or other emergencies, our team reaches out to provide emergency supplies to affected communities.”

He also emphasized Seeds India’s ongoing commitment to humanitarian service and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to serve those in distress. “We seek the blessings of the people so we can continue to work for the welfare of humanity,” Gehlot added.

Social worker Moniton Singha, in whose residence the distribution camp was organized, extended heartfelt thanks to the Seeds India team for their dedicated service. “The way they traveled all the way from Delhi and took the initiative to support flood victims here without any expectation is truly admirable. We are grateful to every member of the team,” he said.

Also present during the final day of the relief program were Digital Manager Arvind Sharma, Shamim Iqbal Hussain, Ajit Mishra, Surjeet Mishra, Nepal Singh, Deep Bhattacharjee, Altaf Hussain Barbhuiya, Krishnamohan Singha, Shantanu Singh, Satyajit Singh, Moin Uddin Laskar, Kajal Laskar, Rajesh Singh, and others.

The five-day relief initiative by Seeds India has been widely appreciated in the local community for bridging the gap in immediate assistance and bringing hope to families reeling from the devastation caused by the floods.
