Imphal: A senior newspaper editor was attacked by armed men in Manipur’s Imphal East on the night of February 18.Khoirom Loyalakpa, editor of the local daily Naharol Thoudang, was targeted near Hatta cemetery around 10 pm.
Unidentified attackers reportedly fired two rounds at his vehicle before stopping him and beating him at the spot.He was later taken to Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences for treatment. His condition has not been officially shared.
Police have registered a case at Porompat Police Station. No arrests have been made yet.The motive behind the attack is still unknown. Further details are awaited.
