A tribute was paid to Assam’s legendary singer Zubeen Garg

Silchar: Sharad Utsav 2025 was celebrated on Thursday at the Radhamadhab College campus under the initiative of the Department of Cultural Affairs, with the active participation of students.

Keeping alive the traditions of Bengali heritage and culture, which are also shared by the larger Indian society, the festival was observed with joy and enthusiasm.

On the occasion, a tribute was paid to Assam’s legendary singer Zubeen Garg. In his memory, the teachers of Radhamadhab College performed the song “Mayabini” as a mark of respect. This was followed by a captivating cultural programme presented by the students.

Present at the event were Dr. Arundhati Dutta Choudhury, Acting Principal of the College, Dr. Rahul Chakraborty, Vice-Principal, Dr. Sonali Choudhury, Coordinator of IQAC, Dr. Ruma Nath Choudhury, Convenor of the Cultural Cell, along with other faculty members, administrative and library staff, and students. The programme was conducted by Rishika Roy.
