Silchar: Shrinika Nath Das has earned accolades by winning the title of Best Player in a chess tournament organized by The Little Tree House Chess Academy in Silchar. The tournament, held on Sunday at Second Link Road to mark International Chess Day, witnessed spirited participation and competitive gameplay, with Shrinika’s performance standing out among all.

An eighth-grade student of Kendriya Vidyalaya ONGC, Srikona, Shrinika demonstrated remarkable composure and strategic skill throughout the tournament. Her consistent form and focused gameplay ultimately secured her the coveted title.

Shrinika comes from a distinguished academic background. She is the only daughter of Professor Jiban Das, Head of the Department of Political Science at Radhamadhab College, Silchar, and Dr. Sarbashri Nath, a faculty member in the Chemistry Department of Gurucharan College, which has recently been upgraded to Gurucharan State University.

Following her success, Shrinika has received widespread congratulations from teachers, fellow students, and well-wishers for her outstanding achievement in the intellectual sport.
