Silchar: With the inauguration of the Silchar Convention Centre expected soon, Assam Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah visited the site today to review the final preparations.

He was joined by Minister Kaushik Rai, who accompanied him during the inspection of the upcoming facility. Speaking on the occasion, Rai said the state government remains committed to the overall development of the Barak Valley under the leadership of Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

He noted that the Convention Centre is expected to play an important role in boosting social, cultural, and administrative activities in the region. Once operational, the facility is likely to serve as a key venue for major public events, official programmes, and community functions.

The visit comes just days ahead of the anticipated opening, marking a significant step in strengthening infrastructure in the Barak Valley.
