Silchar : The Silchar District Sports Association (DSA) on Saturday paid homage to legendary Assamese singer Zubeen Garg, whose untimely demise on Friday left fans across the region in grief.

At the Silchar District Sports Association ground, members, players, and cultural enthusiasts observed a solemn tribute, recalling Garg’s unmatched contribution to Assamese music and his lasting influence on the cultural fabric of the Northeast.

DSA officials said the singer’s passing marked the end of an era, as his songs had been a source of inspiration for generations. A moment of silence was observed, followed by floral tributes to the departed artist.
