Silchar: Cultural organisations and local artistes on Friday paid tribute to Kazi Nazrul Islam on his 49th death anniversary. Known as the national poet of Bangladesh and celebrated across Bengal, Nazrul’s legacy as the “Rebel Poet” was remembered through recitations, songs, and discussions.
Speakers recalled his fearless voice against injustice and oppression, and underlined how his writings continue to inspire struggles for equality and human dignity.
