Silchar: Deep sorrow engulfed Silchar on Saturday morning following the demise of Shri Ranjit Bhattacharjee, father of long-time BJP karyakarta Shamu Bhattacharjee. He passed away at around 7 a.m., leaving behind a legacy of humility, devotion, and service.

Late Ranjit Bhattacharjee was a devoted disciple of Shyamananda Baba, a lifelong well-wisher of the Bharatiya Janata Party, and was known for his gentle nature and selfless spirit. His warm personality and readiness to help others earned him deep respect across the community.

Recalling his long association with the departed soul, Silchar MLA Dipayan Chakraborty said, “Ranjit Kakuda was an exceptionally humble and kind-hearted person.

There was a time when, if he didn’t see me for a few days, he would ask, ‘Where have you been? Haven’t seen you around.’ I feel deeply pained today, though we all must one day leave behind this worldly bond.”

The MLA prayed to the Almighty for the eternal peace of Ranjit Bhattacharjee’s soul and expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
