Silchar: In a significant gesture of support to the financially distressed, Silchar MLA Dipayan Chakraborty on Saturday distributed cheques amounting to Rs.12,15,000 under the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF). A total of 45 beneficiaries from Silchar received assistance for medical and other essential needs.

The distribution programme aimed at extending a helping hand to economically weaker sections of the society, especially those grappling with health-related challenges and other emergencies. Speaking on the occasion, MLA Chakraborty highlighted the importance of the CMRF as a vital source of relief for many families during times of crisis.

Expressing his gratitude, the legislator said, “I sincerely thank Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma for his continued compassion and unwavering support towards the underprivileged. His leadership has ensured that timely aid reaches those who need it the most.”

The Chief Minister’s Relief Fund has played a crucial role in offering financial assistance to individuals facing medical emergencies, loss of livelihood, and other hardships. Saturday’s disbursement is seen as yet another step in the government’s efforts to uphold its commitment to social welfare and inclusive governance.
