Silchar: On the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, the Silchar Municipal Corporation organised a cleanliness campaign under the Seva Pakhwada initiative “Swachhata Hi Seva” 2025 here on Thursday.

The drive began at 6 a.m., starting from Tarapur Police Station and continuing up to the Tarapur Overbridge.

Citizens, officials, and local representatives actively participated in the initiative, reaffirming the message of collective responsibility towards cleanliness.

Among those present were Silchar MLA Dipayan Chakraborty, Municipal Commissioner Shrishti Singh, Executive Officer N. Sharma, former Commissioner and district vice president Jhalak Chakraborty, former Municipal Commissioner Madhumita Sharma, Mandal President Hirak Choudhury, along with several other dignitaries and community members.

The programme highlighted the importance of public participation in maintaining hygiene and echoed the Prime Minister’s vision of a cleaner, healthier India.
