Silchar: Silchar Police carried out a major anti drug operation in the Rangpur area on December 15, seizing around 90,000 Yaba tablets and arresting two persons.

Acting on specific intelligence inputs, a police team intercepted a truck during routine checking. A detailed search led to the recovery of the contraband concealed inside a specially built secret chamber in the vehicle.

The two arrested individuals are residents of areas under Dholai police station. Both have been taken into custody for further interrogation. Preliminary investigation indicates that the consignment was being transported for smuggling. Police are probing the source of the drugs and the wider network involved. Further investigation is underway.
