Silchar: Silchar Sporting Club, one of the oldest and most respected sporting organisations of Barak Valley, accorded a warm felicitation to Professor Niranjan Roy, the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of Gurucharan University, on Monday.

As a token of respect, the Vice-Chancellor was presented with a traditional uttoriyo, a floral bouquet, and a memento.

The event was attended by Club President Dr. Anup Kumar Roy, Vice-Presidents Babul Hore and Nirmal Das, Treasurer Satyajit Das, Joint Secretary Babu Singh, and members Joydeep Kar, Shankar Sarkar, Ranju Chanda, Kamalesh Das, among others.

Expressing his delight, Dr. Anup Kumar Roy said, “It is a matter of pride for us to felicitate such a distinguished personality.” In his response, Prof. Roy thanked the club members for the honour and assured them of a visit to the club office in the near future.
