Silchar: In a proud moment for the region, five young athletes from the Silchar Assembly constituency three in Kabaddi and two in Athletics have earned selection for the Under-17 State Training Camp under the prestigious Khel Maharan 2.0 initiative.

To acknowledge their achievement and boost their morale, the Silchar Municipal Corporation organised a felicitation programme on Monday at its office. During the event, the selected players were presented with tracksuits and t-shirts, along with monetary incentives as a gesture of encouragement.

Chairperson of the Silchar Municipal Corporation, Sristi Singh, praised the athletes for bringing pride to the constituency and urged them to perform their best at the state level. Silchar MLA Dipayan Chakraborty also extended his best wishes and congratulated the young talents.

The programme saw the presence of several dignitaries, including District Sports Association representative Chandan Sharma and BJP district vice-president Abhrajit Chakraborty, among others.
