Imphal: SpiceJet has announced its entry into Imphal with the launch of daily flight services to the Manipur capital, marking the airline’s first-ever operations in the state. The new services will begin from February 10, 2026.

The airline will operate daily flights to Imphal from Kolkata, Guwahati and Mumbai using Boeing 737 aircraft. Flights from Kolkata and Guwahati will be non-stop, while the Mumbai–Imphal service will operate with a short stopover at Kolkata, allowing passengers to travel on the same aircraft without changing planes.

The move is expected to significantly improve air connectivity to Manipur, a state that currently has limited flight options. The new services will benefit residents, students, medical travellers, government officials and business passengers by offering more choice and better access to key cities.

With these routes, passengers from Imphal will also get smoother onward connections to several destinations across India and select international locations through SpiceJet’s network.

Debojo Maharshi, Chief Business Officer of SpiceJet, said the launch of flights to Imphal is an important step in expanding the airline’s presence in the North-East. He said better connectivity to the region has been a long-standing focus and the new flights will make travel to Manipur easier and more convenient.

Imphal, the capital of Manipur, is known for its rich history, strong cultural identity and scenic beauty. Popular attractions include Kangla Fort, the iconic Ima Keithel or all-women market, Loktak Lake with its floating islands, and Keibul Lamjao National Park, the world’s only floating national park and home to the rare Sangai deer.

The new flights are expected to give a fresh boost to tourism, trade and people-to-people movement in the state.
