SRIBHUMI : Serious allegations have surfaced against Ramakrishna Vidyapith Higher Secondary School in Sribhumi’s Ramkrishnanagar area, where parents claim that the school authorities have fraudulently listed students from nearby private schools in the Shiksha Setu App to gain government benefits. Additionally, accusations of unauthorized fee collection and irregularities in the Midday Meal scheme have sparked widespread concern.
According to written complaints submitted by the parents to the local school inspector, students from Nardev Adarsha Vidyaniketan and Saraswati Vidyamandir both private institutions have been falsely registered as students of the government school in official records. This manipulation allegedly helped the school gain undue advantages from government welfare schemes.
Parents also allege that the school, under the leadership of in-charge headmaster Biswajit Nath, has collected money ranging from ?40 to ?500 from each student for various purposes including admission, examination, and electricity without providing any official receipts. Furthermore, although the school reportedly has 2,400 enrolled students, only about 300 students receive midday meals, raising suspicions about the usage of food grain and funds meant for the remaining students.
“These issues have been recurring ever since Biswajit Nath took charge. Despite repeated complaints from parents over unethical practices, no action has been taken,” said one of the guardians.
In light of these concerns, parents have submitted formal complaints not only to the school inspector but also to the Chief Minister, the Education Minister, the Commissioner Secretary of Secondary Education, and the Director of Secondary Education. They are demanding a full investigation into the financial and administrative conduct of the school.
This developing story has triggered outrage among local residents and parents, who are now calling for immediate government intervention to ensure accountability and transparency in the functioning of government-run schools.
