Kohima /Nagaland : During the period of 12 to 19 October 2025, the Indian Army and Assam Rifles formations, in close conjunction with Manipur Police executed a series of precise, intelligence-driven joint operations across Phubala Mamang, Moirang, Top Makha Leikai, Bishnupur, Chandel, Imphal West, and Imphal East Districts of Manipur.
The operations led to the apprehension of four cadres from hill and valley-based groups and the recovery of 12 weapons, and other war-like stores. Details of operations are given below.
On 12 Oct 2025, Army apprehended PLA cadres and recovered a cache of weapons in Kokilbon Leikai, Moirang, Bishnupur area including one AK-47, one MP9, one double-barrel gun, one .32 pistol, 2, .32 live rounds, and 2 BP plates and on 13 Oct 2025, Army recovered one INSAS LMG with magazine, one single-barrel rifle, one Chinese grenade, one tube launching cylinder, one Baofeng handheld radio, 3 BP helmets, 4 BP plates, 1 rubber tube and other war-like stores during a joint operation in Phubala Mamang Pat, Bishnupur.
Near the riverbank adjacent to the Keipha Road area Army recovered one .303 sniper rifle, one .32 pistol, one SBBL, one single-barreled gun, one Sten gun, two bulletproof jackets, five bulletproof plates, one telescope with a key, one rubber tube, and other war-like stores in joint operation with Bishnupur Police Commandos and representatives of Moirang Police Station on 13 Oct 2025.
On 13 October 2025, Assam Rifles, launched a joint search operation with assistance from central forces and Imphal West Police Commandos in the Top Makha Leikai area and apprehended one cadre from the Kangleipak Communist Party (People’s War Group).
I another operation Assam Rifles, launched a joint search operation with assistance from central forces and Imphal West Police Commandos in the Lamphel Super Market area and apprehended one cadre of the Kangleipak Communist Party (Apunba).
On 13 October 2025, Assam Rifles, launched a joint search operation with assistance from BSF and local police in Chandel District and apprehended one cadre of the United National Liberation Front (Progressive) [UNLF (P)] in L. Minou and recovered one white machine gun from the individual.
On 16 October 2025, Assam Rifles, launched a joint search operation with assistance from central forces and Thoubal Police Commandos in the Tekcham Mayai Leikai area and apprehended one cadre of the Kangleipak Communist Party (Nongdrenkhomba).
