Silchar: The three-day priest training workshop organized by the Barak Brahmin Parishad concluded on Sunday. The workshop began last Friday at Gopal Jiu’s Akhara in Rangirkhari, inaugurated by Gunsindhu Maharaj, secretary of Bharat Seva Sangh, Silchar branch.

During the training, participating priests were given hands-on lessons on the scriptural aspects of Durga Puja. Organizers said the workshop will help priests enhance their skills in preparing for and conducting Durga Puja, ensuring proper observance of traditions and rituals.

Eminent scholars Lakshikanta Bhattacharjee, Rahul Bhattacharjee, and Ajit Bhattacharjee elaborated on various aspects of scriptures for the participants. On the concluding day, Acharya Ranjan Bhattacharjee, head of Ramakrishna Nimbark Sanskrit Vidyapith in Hailakandi, attended the event and explained in detail the process of performing Sandhipuja during Maha Ashtami and Mahanavami, as well as the rituals of Kumari Puja.

Others who contributed to the workshop included Mridul Bhattacharjee, Suman Bhattacharjee, Digendra Bhattacharjee, and Dipak Bhattacharjee. The entire program was conducted under the supervision of Barak Brahmin Parishad official Gautam Chakraborty.
