Silchar: The Public Works (Roads) Department has announced a complete closure of the Itkhola tri-junction to Goniwala stretch for all vehicles starting Thursday, to facilitate the construction of a 2×2 box cell culvert near the Silchar Development Complex.

The closure, notified by Executive Engineer Aniruddha Nag of the Silchar & Udharbond Territorial Road Division, will remain in effect until further notice. During this period, all traffic will be diverted via the Itkhola–Malugram route.

Authorities have urged commuters to adjust travel plans accordingly, warning of possible delays due to changes in traffic flow. The department has appealed for public cooperation, assuring that the project will significantly improve connectivity and drainage in the area once completed.
