3 Days of State Mourning Announced

Agartala: Tripura Legislative Assembly Speaker Biswabandhu Sen passed away in the early hours of December 26 in Bengaluru. He was at 3.30 am, according to an official communication issued by the Government of Tripura.
The state government said it has learnt of the demise with profound regret. Sen’s mortal remains will be brought from Bengaluru to Agartala on December 27.
As a mark of respect, the Tripura government has announced state mourning for three days, from December 26 to December 28, both days inclusive. During this period, the national flag will be flown at half-mast across the state and no official entertainment will be held.
The government has also decided that all state government offices, including those located outside Tripura, public sector undertakings, and all educational institutions remained closed on December 26.
A state funeral will be accorded to Biswabandhu Sen on December 27.The government has directed all concerned authorities to take necessary action in accordance with the decisions.
