Tripura: The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, through My Bharat, is set to organize the nationwide Sardar@150 Unity March as a tribute to the Iron Man of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The initiative, themed “Ek Bharat AtmaNirbhar Bharat,” aims to ignite patriotism, civic engagement, and unity among India’s youth.
Launched digitally on October 6 by Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya on the My Bharat portal, the campaign marks the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Patel. Its digital phase features social media reel contests, essay competitions, and the Sardar@150 Young Leaders Program, where 150 selected youth will participate in a national walk symbolizing Patel’s vision of a united India.
Addressing a press conference at the Secretariat in Agartala on Monday, Tripura’s Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Tinku Roy said, “The Sardar@150 Unity March is not just an event—it is an emotion that connects every Indian with the ideals of unity and self-reliance Sardar Patel stood for. Through My Bharat, we are empowering the youth to become torchbearers of a strong and united nation.”
He added that the march embodies the spirit of Janbhagidari envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, bringing together citizens from all walks of life students, youth leaders, and social organizations to walk hand in hand for the nation.
In Tripura, district-level core committees have been constituted under the chairmanship of respective Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipatis to organize the Unity March. The committees include MLAs, District Magistrates, Superintendents of Police, Youth Affairs officers, NSS coordinators, and representatives from My Bharat and youth organizations.
The District-Level Unity March will be held across all eight districts from October 31 to November 25, 2025. Routes have been finalized based on local feasibility from Kailashahar to Unakoti Heritage (Unakoti district), Ambassa to Kulai (Dhalai), Khowai to Chebri, Ujjayanta to DDSSC, Badharghat (West district), Rastarmatha to Charilam (Sepahijala), Belonia College to Bharat Chandra Nagar Block (South district), and Dharmanagar Degree College to DM Office (North district).
Participants will take part in activities such as the Atmanirbhar Bharat Oath, Nesha Mukta Bharat pledge, Swadeshi Mela, yoga sessions, cleanliness drives, essay and debate competitions, and cultural programs.
The initiative will culminate in a 150 km National Padyatra from Karamsad, Sardar Patel’s birthplace, to the Statue of Unity at Kevadiya between November 26 and December 6, 2025.
District administrations have been instructed to ensure mass participation through awareness campaigns in schools, colleges, and public institutions. The event is expected to serve as a powerful symbol of India’s unity, determination, and journey toward Ek Bharat, Atma Nirbhar Bharat.
