Silchar: Kendriya Vidyalaya Silchar turned into a vibrant hub of culture, colour and creativity on Monday as the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (Silchar region) hosted the cluster-level celebration of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB). With Assam paired with Madhya Pradesh this year, the event became a showcase of traditions and talent, drawing spirited participation from students of eight Kendriya Vidyalayas under the Silchar cluster.
The programme featured an array of performances including group dances, soulful musical recitals, a handicraft exhibition and an on-the-spot painting competition. Each presentation echoed the theme of unity in diversity, underlining how India’s cultural plurality continues to bind the nation together.
Cachar District Commissioner Mridul Yadav, IAS, who graced the event as Chief Guest, lauded the young performers for their spirited efforts. “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat is not just a cultural programme but a mission to strengthen national integration.

When children learn each other’s traditions, languages and art forms, they become ambassadors of unity,” he said. Yadav urged the students to carry forward values of tolerance, discipline and respect in their lives.
P.I.T. Raja, Deputy Commissioner, KVS Silchar Region, described the initiative as a “vital platform for cultural learning.” He remarked, “Assam and Madhya Pradesh, though geographically apart, share invisible bonds through history and folklore. These events help children realise that despite our differences, we are one India.” He commended teachers and schools for their efforts in guiding students.
Special Guest A.K. Seet, Assistant Commissioner, KVS Silchar Region, stressed the role of Kendriya Vidyalayas in holistic nation-building. “EBSB gives children a sense of pride in unity while appreciating regional diversity. The creativity, confidence and cultural awareness shown today reflect the true spirit of our national values,” he said, urging students to respect traditions beyond their own.
Cluster coordinator Sunil Gupta and host principal Kishore Kumar Pandey interacted closely with participants, including Scouts & Guides and Cubs & Bulbuls contingents, applauding their discipline and enthusiasm. They noted that the celebration was more than a competition — it was an opportunity to experience the joy of belonging to a culturally rich nation.
The day-long event at KV Silchar concluded as a lively celebration of art, talent and togetherness. The cheers and applause across the campus resounded with the essence of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat — strengthening unity through diversity.
