Mizoram : On 29 August 2025, acting on credible intelligence, Assam Rifles conducted a search operation in general area of Saikumphai village, Champhai district, Mizoram. The troops cordoned a suspected house amd during the search operation, the team recovered one 12 Bore Rifle, one Pistol, along with ammunition and explosives. The owner of the house was also apprehended.

Following this operation, the team continued their pursuit in the adjoining forest near the house.

Assam Rifles team unearthed a hidden cache containing a large quantity of weapons, ammunition, explosives, and other war-like-stores. The cache included one Heckler & Koch G3 Assault Rifle, two Springfield Sniper Rifles, two Shotguns, one MA Assault Rifle, two hand grenades. Ammunition recovered included 75 live sniper rounds, 92 live .303 tracer rounds, 30 live 7.62mm rounds, 8 live Twelve Bore rounds, 2 fired Twelve Bore cases, 91 live 5.56mm rounds, and 1 live and 1 fired 9mm round.

Explosives found included 3 drums of Cordtex, materials for making improvised explosive devices, one cylindrical packet of explosives, and seven packets of PEK. War-like stores. included two scopes, one bulletproof plate, three bulletproof jackets, and one belt.

The recovery of this sizeable cache has averted any possible law and order situation in the region. The apprehended individual, along with the seized arms, ammunition, and war-like stores, has been handed over to the Police Department in Dungtlang for further investigation.
