GOC instilled a sense of patriotism in young budding minds

Kohima /Nagaland : Major General SS Kartikeya, YSM, SM, General Officer Commanding (GOC), Red Shield Division of India Army and Chairman, Local Board of Administration (LBA), Sainik School, Imphal, visited the prestigious institute on 23 June 2025. He was accompanied by the Chairperson, of the Family Welfare Organisation of the Division.

During the visit, the General Officer felicitated six young officers of the Army, alumni of Sainik School. GOC also felicitated four cadets, including two girl cadets, Cadet Amom Ratneshwor Singh, Cdt Duke Rajkumar, Cdt Priya Molsom and Cdt KV Gouri Keerthi, for successfully completing the Mount Everest Base Camp trek. He also conferred ranks upon newly appointed Cadet Appointments during the Investiture Ceremony.
The newly established digital classrooms, marking a significant step toward the institution’s technological advancement were also inaugurated and academic achievers of Class X and XII were felicitated with Cash Prizes and Merit Cards.

In an inspiring talk, while addressing the gathering, GOC instilled a sense of patriotism in young budding minds. He commended the school for its exemplary performance despite numerous challenges.
He lauded the dedication of the staff and cadets, especially highlighting the school’s 100% pass results in both Class X and XII. He also appreciated the revival of cadet visits to the National Defence Academy (NDA) Passing Out Parade in May 2025 a tradition reinitiated after a 21-year hiatus. A vote of thanks was given by the Principal, Sainik School Imphal.
