Bhante Dr. Dhamma Piya, Chairman of Dhamma Deepa Foundation and Vice Chancellor of Dhamma Deepa University, attended the valedictory function of the Sangh Shiksha Varg organized by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), Tripura Prant, on Sunday, May 4.

Dr. Dhamma Piya, a revered Buddhist religious leader and Secretary of the Asia Buddhist Organization, is a permanent resident of Tripura and well-acquainted with the work of the RSS. Speaking from the stage, he lauded the efforts of the Sangh, emphasizing the significance of social unity and value-based education.

Highlighting the importance of holistic development, he remarked that training is vital not only for spiritual growth but also for national progress. “No one is born with knowledge — everything must be learned through training,” he said. “Selfless service to society requires both discipline and proper training. That is why initiatives like this Sangh Shiksha Varg are so crucial as they instil patriotism and a deep commitment to public service.”

In a powerful message during his address, Bhante Dr. Dhamma Piya stressed the importance of unity, discipline, and character-building, setting a thoughtful and inspiring tone for the conclusion of the Varg.

The training camp, held from April 20 to May 4, provided a structured program of physical, ideological, and cultural education. The RSS has long recognized the annual Sangh Shiksha Varg as a key mechanism for cultivating disciplined, service-oriented citizens devoted to national development.

This year’s Varg attracted swayamsevaks (volunteers) from diverse walks of life, including students, doctors, engineers, farmers, entrepreneurs, and professionals — reflecting the growing and inclusive footprint of the RSS in Tripura.

Calling upon all sections of society to come together for social development, Dr. Dhamma Piya concluded by stating that only through continuous moral training can one become a “real man” — conscious, compassionate, and socially responsible. Also, Ashok Biswas and Tripura Prant Baudhik Pramukh addressed the trainees and audience about the organisation’s journey and preparations for the coming centenary year celebrations.
