I’ve noticed some girls put on the hijab with a lot of excitement. Then, after about a year, the excitement faded, the emotion calmed down, the arguments for the hijab began to seem hollow, so they stopped wearing it. Many girls want to take off the hijab but can’t because of shame.
They worry about what people will say. They think people will assume they no longer believe in Islam. No — there is nothing shameful or fearful about that. There are thousands of reasons for not wearing the hijab. Know those reasons yourself, tell others. Abandon the hijab.
It is good for physical and mental health. The hijab is not just a piece of cloth; it is a misogynistic custom. This custom is like a chastity belt. The chastity belt has disappeared. The hijab will disappear too. Congratulations to the girls who are throwing off the hijab — congratulations to the Iranian ones. The struggling women of Iran know how many thousands of girls are being forced to give their lives just to win the right not to wear the hijab.
