KRC Times Tell Tale Teaser Team
Manipur’s drug crisis, fueled by its proximity to the Golden Triangle and exacerbated by ethnic conflict, porous borders, and illegal roads like the German and Tiger routes, poses a serious threat to regional security. Despite significant efforts by the Manipur Police, CRPF, and Assam Rifles, drug trafficking continues to thrive due to unchecked poppy cultivation, militant involvement, and the absence of robust checkpoints.
The newly constructed illegal roads have become trafficking corridors, endangering Naga territories and reigniting inter-community tensions. Urgent action- closing these roads and restoring regulated movement is critical to dismantling the narco-network and securing Manipur’s future.
