Aizawl : PM Modi will visit Mizoram on Sept 12 and inaugurate the Bairabi–Sairang railway line on Sept 13.This connects Aizawl to the Indian railway map via Assam’s Silchar.

The 51.38 km project has 48 tunnels, 55 major bridges, and one bridge taller than Qutub Minar.Sairang station will be upgraded; Rajdhani trains will run.

The project is part of the Act East policy for boosting NE connectivity.Before this, Modi will visit Assam on Sept 8 for Bhupen Hazarika’s birth centenary and India’s first bio-ethanol plant launch.
