Club Valley View reaffirmed its commitment to commemorating the 100th National Broadcasting Day with even greater enthusiasm and grandeur

SILCHAR : The Lions Club of Silchar Valley View observed National Broadcasting Day on Wednesday with a thoughtful and engaging programme held at the premises of All India Radio (AIR), Silchar. The event marked the 98th anniversary of Indian broadcasting and was organised to honour the vital role of radio in society.
The programme was chaired by Hritabrata Bhattacharjee, Head of Programmes, AIR Silchar, who was felicitated with a prestigious memento by members of Club Valley View. The event witnessed the presence of several dignitaries from AIR, including Kush Prasad Yadav, Assistant Director (Engineering); Santanu Karmakar and Krishnendu Chakraborty, both Assistant Engineers; and Himadri Chakraborty, Transmission Executive.
Guiding Lion Sanjeev Roy delivered the introductory speech, highlighting the significance and enduring relevance of radio in modern society. In his keynote address, Hritabrata Bhattacharjee reflected on the crucial role played by radio during natural disasters, emergencies, and in day-to-day information dissemination. He expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the AIR Silchar team to Lions Club Valley View for their inspiring initiative, which he said had greatly boosted team morale.
The event also saw participation from Club President Bandita Trivedi Roy, along with members Minara Laskar, Subir Dey, and Project Chairperson Pushpabati Roy, who distributed sweets among all attendees.
As India approaches the centenary of broadcasting in 2027, Club Valley View reaffirmed its commitment to commemorating the 100th National Broadcasting Day with even greater enthusiasm and grandeur.
