Shillong: Professor Ashok Kumar Nagawat, Vice-Chancellor of Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University (DSEU), has praised the North East Integration Rally (NEIR) as a powerful initiative to strengthen unity, skill development, and entrepreneurship across the Northeastern region.
Congratulating the organisers, Prof. Nagawat extended his best wishes for the rally’s success and highlighted the value of collective action in driving progress. “Events like this speak of unity and shared purpose. True progress comes from skilled youth and a united spirit,” he said.

He added that DSEU is proud to associate with NEIR, describing it as “a dynamic platform to accelerate skill development and entrepreneurial growth in the Northeastern states.” Prof. Nagawat, a noted academic leader, theoretical physicist, and higher education reformer with over four decades of experience, stressed that collaborations like this can become catalysts for long-term regional transformation.
On October 13, a team from NEIR met Prof. Nagawat and senior officials of DSEU at the university’s campus in New Delhi. During the meeting, Biswadeep Gupta, Founder and Managing Trustee of KRC Foundation, presented the vision and framework of NEIR, focusing on its flagship campaign “5E for Success” — Education, Employment, Employability, Entrepreneurship, and Emotional Intelligence.
Gupta explained that the KRC Foundation operates on the principle of “Connecting the unconnected”, aiming to bridge social, economic, and developmental gaps through collaborative action.

Following the discussion, both organisations agreed to collaborate formally through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). As part of the partnership, DSEU will expand its work and presence in the Northeastern region, while KRC Foundation will integrate DSEU’s skill development and entrepreneurship initiatives into its projects once the MoU is executed.
Gupta, who led the delegation under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Sukamal Deb, Adviser, NEIR, and A.L. Hek, MLA Meghalaya and Patron of NEIR, described the association as a major milestone. “This collaboration aligns with the shared goals of both institutions and will play a crucial role in advancing the NEIR initiative,” he said.
The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to empowering youth, building entrepreneurial capacity, and fostering sustainable growth across the Northeast through education and skill-based initiatives.
