BJP Silchar Marks 150 Years of Vande Mataram with Rally, Cultural Events, and Competitions

Over a thousand participants came together to sing the national song in unison

Silchar: The Cachar district unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday organized a grand rally in Silchar to commemorate 150 years of Vande Mataram. The rally began from the party headquarters and culminated at Goldighi Mall, where over a thousand participants came together to sing the national song in unison.

The event saw the participation of several prominent leaders, including Silchar MP Parimal Suklabaidya, District BJP President Rupam Saha, MLAs Dipayan Chakraborty and Mihir Kanti Shome, and party general secretary Gopal Roy. Rajya Sabha MP Kanad Purkayastha was also present on the occasion.

As part of the celebrations, an essay competition for school students was held at the BJP office on Friday. It will be followed by an art competition on Saturday. The three-day observance will conclude on Sunday with a cultural programme and a prize distribution ceremony for the competition winners.

Party leaders described the initiative as a tribute to Vande Mataram’s enduring legacy and its role in uniting the nation through a shared spirit of patriotism.
