Kolkata: Haorokcham Anil, Secretary of the Manipur Chamber of Commerce and Industries, has described the month-long Northeast Unity Rally initiated by KRC as a thoughtful and timely step toward building deeper connections across the region.

Speaking about the rally, Anil said the initiative goes beyond symbolic travel and offers a real opportunity for people to engage with the Northeast at a human level. Flagged off from Kolkata on January 4, the rally will conclude in Guwahati on February 4, covering multiple states over a full month.

The extended duration allows participants to experience the region closely rather than through assumptions or stereotypes. According to him, such sustained interaction creates space for understanding the social, cultural, and emotional realities of different Northeastern states.

Anil pointed out that the rally has the potential to dismantle mental barriers that persist both within the region and outside it. Direct interaction, shared experiences, and time spent on the ground can foster mutual respect and a stronger sense of unity among people.

He also expressed appreciation for the KRC team, calling the rally a meaningful initiative that arrives at the right moment. Efforts like these, he added, are essential for strengthening social and cultural bonds and for encouraging a more connected and inclusive Northeast.
