Kangpokpi : N. Biren Singh has strongly condemned the recent vandalism and violent activities reported in Kangpokpi district, where armed miscreants allegedly destroyed machinery and intimidated labourers working on development projects at Zaimeng Lake.

In a statement, the Chief Minister said the site holds significant importance as both a development hub and an emerging tourist destination. He noted that the lake has, in recent years, become a peaceful gathering spot for locals and visitors alike, making the incident particularly concerning.
Singh also expressed alarm over reports of unrest and gunfights in certain parts of Manipur. He stressed that such incidents must stop immediately and urged that all disputes be resolved through constitutional means and in accordance with the law.
Calling the acts “deliberate attempts to incite tension and disrupt normalcy,” Singh warned that no individual or group would be allowed to undermine the rule of law or threaten the state’s sovereignty and integrity.
Appealing for calm, he urged all communities to exercise restraint and resolve differences through dialogue within the constitutional framework. “When we turn against each other, we only help those who seek to divide and weaken us,” he added.
