Dholai: Amiya Kanti Das secured a decisive victory from the Dholai constituency, thanking voters and calling the mandate a clear reflection of public trust and support.

Speaking after the results were declared on Monday, Das said the win comes with a greater sense of responsibility. He reaffirmed his commitment to serve with honesty and dedication, adding that the people’s faith in him and his party has been built on work already done and the promise of continued development.

“We have dreams and clear plans to take Assam forward,” he said, stressing that development, safety, and steady progress will remain at the core of his priorities. He described the victory as “just the beginning” and said sustained effort and cooperation would be needed to achieve long-term goals.

Das thanked voters across the constituency for their support and said he would represent all sections of society, not just party workers or supporters. He acknowledged that while several development initiatives have been implemented in recent years, more work remains, especially in ensuring that government schemes reach people at the grassroots level in an effective manner.

Highlighting infrastructure improvements, he noted that many areas which once lacked basic road connectivity have seen progress, though gaps still exist. He added that his focus would be on bridging these gaps and accelerating development in both rural and semi-urban parts of the constituency.

Das also expressed his gratitude to Himanta Biswa Sarma, describing him as “a man who stands by his words,” and credited the state leadership for guiding development efforts in Assam.

Calling for wider participation in governance, Das invited suggestions from journalists, teachers, and members of civil society. He said that engaging with different sections would help in better planning and execution of policies.

“In the coming days, we will sit together, discuss, and plan properly so that schemes are implemented in the right way and people truly benefit,” he said.

He further added that meetings would be held with local stakeholders, including educators and social organisations, to understand ground-level issues and design practical solutions.

With the victory, Das said his responsibility has grown significantly, and he pledged to work with sincerity to meet public expectations and push forward development initiatives across the Dholai constituency.
