Shillong: The Meghalaya High Court is currently hearing a plea filed by the state government seeking cancellation of bail granted to Sonam Raghuvanshi, the prime accused in the 2025 murder of her husband, Raja Raghuvanshi, in Sohra.

The bail was granted by a Sessions Court on April 24, which cited procedural lapses in the arrest documentation as the basis for its decision.

Challenging the order, the state government has moved the High Court, arguing for cancellation of the bail. After initial proceedings, the High Court has posted the matter for further hearing on May 12.

The case pertains to the alleged murder of Raja Raghuvanshi in Sohra last year, which had drawn significant attention. This is a developing story.
