Silchar: In a major success against drug trafficking, Himanta Biswa Sarma-led anti-drug operations received a boost after Cachar Police seized banned Codeine Phosphate Syrup worth around Rs.2.1 crore.

Acting on reliable inputs, police intercepted a truck and recovered the contraband during the operation. One person has been arrested in connection with the case.
