ICAR Manipur Centre Wins First Best Stall Award at State Krishi Mela

Imphal : The ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Manipur Centre, Lamphelpat, has been awarded the First Best Stall Award at the State Krishi Mela 2026, organised by the State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI) under the Department of Agriculture, Government of Manipur.

The award was presented in recognition of the Centre’s outstanding exhibition showcasing its research achievements, improved crop varieties, climate-resilient agricultural technologies, farm machinery and implements, integrated farming systems, and farmer-oriented extension activities.

The stall attracted a large number of farmers, students, entrepreneurs, government officials and visitors, who showed keen interest in the informative displays and interactive demonstrations presented by the Centre.

The exhibition highlighted a wide range of technologies and innovations developed in the fields of crop science, horticulture, natural resource management, agricultural engineering, livestock, fisheries and agricultural extension. Visitors were also provided information on sustainable farming practices, balanced nutrient management, climate-smart agriculture and improved production technologies suitable for the North Eastern Hill Region.

Dr. S. Basanta Singh, Head of the Regional Centre, congratulated the scientists, technical staff, support personnel and staff of the Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) for their dedicated efforts in planning, organising and managing the exhibition. He appreciated the collective contribution of all divisions and KVKs in effectively showcasing the Centre’s research achievements and technologies.

He stated that the award reflects the Centre’s commitment to disseminating scientific agricultural innovations and strengthening linkages between researchers, extension personnel and the farming community.

The Centre also expressed gratitude to the Department of Agriculture, Government of Manipur, for organising the State Krishi Mela and providing a platform for showcasing agricultural technologies and innovations for the benefit of farmers and other stakeholders.
