Agartala: Veteran Tripura radio DXer Pradip Chandra Kundu has received international recognition from Adventist World Radio (AWR) for his decades-long dedication to the hobby of radio DXing and his valuable contribution to the broadcaster’s activities.

Kundu was honoured during the AWR Listeners’ Conference held at the Seventh-day Adventist Church on Park Street in Kolkata on July 5. He was among five dedicated radio listeners felicitated for their long-standing loyalty and regular support to the international broadcasting service.

At the event, officials of Adventist World Radio praised Kundu for consistently sending reception quality reports, which have helped the broadcaster monitor and improve its transmissions. They also appreciated his commitment, passion, and contribution to promoting the spirit of radio DXing.

Kundu received a Certificate of Appreciation and a commemorative memento from Dr. Edison Samraj, Director of Adventist World Radio, Southern Asia Division, Kolkata, and Dr. Lasan Rao, Director of Adventist World Radio, Southern Asia Division, Pune.

A retired government school teacher from Agartala, Kundu began his radio DXing journey in 1980. Over the past four decades, he has earned widespread recognition both in India and abroad for his achievements in the field.

In 2020, the Indian Book of Records recognised him for collecting QSL cards from the highest number of countries by an individual. He also secured first place in Asia in the prestigious Top 10 DX Contest, organised annually in Budapest, Hungary, for three consecutive years from 2020 to 2022.

Kundu’s latest recognition adds another milestone to his distinguished career and brings further pride to Tripura in the international radio DXing community.
