Free Eye Check-up Camp Held at Ghoniala Club, 22 Cataract Patients Identified

A total of 110 patients underwent eye examinations at the camp

Silchar: A free cataract detection and eye check-up camp was organised jointly by Youths Against Social Evils (YASE) and Prabhavathi Devi Charitable Trust at Ghoniala Club in the greater Malugram area on Sunday.

A total of 110 patients underwent eye examinations at the camp. Dr Aayushi Shah and optometrist Manjit Debbarma from Choudhury Eye Hospital, Silchar, conducted the check-ups.

During the camp, 22 patients were found to have serious cataract-related problems. According to Trust Camp Manager Debojyoti Das, the identified patients will undergo cataract surgery free of cost at Choudhury Eye Hospital within a week, as per the dates provided to them.

YASE Central Committee President Sanjeev Roy led the organisation’s team at the camp. Anup Roy, Maklishur Rahman Laskar, Abdul Matin Khan, Amit Goala and others were also present. Among the other dignitaries present were Nabendu Chandra Das, Prabhat Das and Nasim Ahmed.

YASE Central Committee Vice-President and camp coordinator Bandita Trivedi Roy thanked Ghoniala Club President Tahir Hussain Laskar, General Secretary Masoom Ahmed and all the members of the club for their support and cooperation in making the free eye camp successful.
