World Entrepreneurs’ Day Observed in Silchar with Focus on Innovation and Self-Reliance

World Entrepreneurs’ Day was observed today with a day-long programme organised by PNB RSETI Cachar at the DRDA Complex in Silchar, highlighting the role of entrepreneurs in promoting innovation, creating employment and addressing social challenges. The theme for this year was “Empowering the Next Generation of Entrepreneurs: Building Bridges to Success”.
The event celebrated the spirit of entrepreneurship, encouraged aspiring entrepreneurs and discussed the impact of entrepreneurial activities on national development. NABARD Cachar District Development Manager Rabishankar Likmabam attended as the chief guest. Other dignitaries present included NABARD Assistant Managers Amit Meena and Rohit M Patil, woman entrepreneur Kalyani Deb, PNB RSETI Cachar Director Arunajyoti Dey and PNB RSETI Cachar Senior Faculty and Training Coordinator Shahed Choudhury.
In his address, NABARD DDM Rabishankar Likmabam cited the example of Bapan Das, founder of Barak Valley agri-startup Grezowate Farms, and his innovation in antibiotic-free poultry farming, and said that passion, perseverance and strategic vision are essential for an entrepreneur to succeed. He also informed the trainees about NABARD’s RSETI e-learning platform and the marketing opportunities available through ONDC.
PNB RSETI Cachar Director Arunajyoti Dey spoke in detail about government-backed bank loans and financial literacy, and guided participants on how to easily avail loans and plan finances. PNB RSETI Cachar Senior Faculty Shahed Choudhury gave detailed information on various government schemes including PMEGP, Stand-Up India and Startup Seed Capital.
Certificates were distributed to successful trainees from various batches on the occasion. Local entrepreneurs including Bapan Das and Purnima Chanda also shared their experiences. The entire programme was conducted with the support of ASARE, the association of successful alumni of RSETI-trained entrepreneurs. The organisers said the main objective of such programmes is to make rural youth self-reliant and to build an entrepreneurial culture in the region.
