Lakhipur Sees Major Push in Administrative, Health, Sports, Education Infrastructure

Lakhipur: Assam Minister and Lakhipur MLA Kaushik Rai on Thursday reviewed the progress of several major development projects in Lakhipur Assembly constituency, covering administrative infrastructure, healthcare, sports and higher education.

Rai inspected the ongoing construction of the Lakhipur Sub-District Commissioner’s Office. He said the new office would play an important role in strengthening the administrative infrastructure of Lakhipur and improving public service delivery.

He also visited the construction site of the 100-bed District Hospital at Lakhipur and reviewed the progress of the project. The hospital is expected to strengthen healthcare infrastructure and provide better and more accessible medical services to the people of the area.

During his visit, Rai met Chingleng Sana Singh, a resident of Binnakandi Ghat, whose house was completely destroyed in a devastating fire a few days ago. He expressed solidarity with the affected family and assured them of support during the difficult period.

Rai further inspected the ongoing construction of the Binnakandi Mini Stadium. He said the facility would provide a better platform for local youths to develop their sporting talents and encourage greater participation in sports. The mini stadium is expected to be inaugurated within the next few days.

He also reviewed the construction work of the Binnakandi Model Degree College. Rai said the project was aimed at creating better opportunities for quality higher education for students of Lakhipur and surrounding areas.
