Silchar: The North East Integration Rally (NEIR), under the aegis of the KRC Foundation, is set to launch the NEIR Teacher Excellence Awards 2026-27 as part of its Education Vertical under the theme ‘5E for Success’.

The initiative aims to recognise and honour teachers, academic mentors and educators whose dedication and contribution have made a meaningful impact on students and the education sector across the northeastern states.

The awards will be presented as part of the NEIR 2026-27 campaign, with educators from different academic levels and geographical areas being considered for recognition. The programme will cover primary school teachers, high school and senior secondary educators, college and university faculty members, research guides, as well as supplementary academic mentors such as home tutors and coaching institute teachers.

According to the organisers, the nomination process will be open to students, parents, fellow teachers, principals, institution owners, district administration officials, public representatives, citizens and the educators themselves. Each nomination will require a detailed account of at least 200 words highlighting the educator’s teaching methods, contribution to society and impact on students and the institution.

The organisers said selected write-ups may also be featured in KRC TIMES, the media and publishing partner of the initiative. Such publication, however, will be treated as an editorial recognition and will not automatically mean selection for the award.

To ensure transparency and regional representation, an NEIR Committee constituted by the NEIR Management under the KRC Foundation will assess the nominations through a multi-level evaluation process. The assessment will include the number of nominations received, the quality and merit of the nomination narratives, independent field verification and confidential feedback from selected parents, colleagues and heads of institutions.

The final number of awardees will be announced in subsequent releases. Selected educators will be felicitated at official NEIR 2026-27 ceremonies and will receive a Certificate of Excellence, a commemorative memento or trophy, a commemorative pen, a traditional North East handloom shawl and a traditional cultural scarf representing indigenous communities of the region.

The organisers stated that all nomination details and confidential feedback collected during the evaluation process will remain restricted to the evaluation panel.

The NEIR Management and the constituted NEIR Committee will have the final authority in all matters related to the selection of awardees.
