Kurukshetra : Prof. Madan Mohan Goel, Former Vice-Chancellor (Thrice), including Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD), Sriperumbudur and superannuated Professor of Kurukshetra University called upon educated youth to enter politics as a dignified career of public service, responsibility and nation-building.

Addressing a Refresher Course on “Multidisciplinary Approaches in Social Science” organized by UGC-MMTTC, BPS Mahila Vishwavidyalaya, Khanpur, Prof. Goel said India’s democratic future depends on converting its demographic dividend into a democratic dividend through meaningful youth participation in governance. Dr. Shafali Nagpal, Director, MMTTC, welcomed and introduced Prof. Goel.

Prof. Goel urged educated youth to enter politics as a career of public service, combining knowledge with integrity, leadership with empathy, and ambition with social responsibility.

Referring to NEP 2020, Prof Goel said education must move beyond certificates towards competence, creativity, character and capacity for action. Youth need opportunities to practise leadership, communication, problem-solving and ethical decision-making.

He urged young political aspirants to follow RAM—Responsibility, Accountability and Morality and become Street SMART—Simple, Moral, Action-oriented, Responsive and Transparent. Quoting the Needonomics principle, he said: “Needs before Noise, Values before Volumes.”

Prof. Goel stressed that youth must move from spectators to stakeholders, from job seekers to value creators, from certificates to competence, and from political noise to public value.

“The future of Viksit Bharat depends on youth who possess not only knowledge and skills but also character, conscience and commitment to public service,” he said.
