Nagaon: Assam Congress president and Lok Sabha MP Gaurav Gogoi has claimed that the BJP is “panicking” ahead of the upcoming Nagaon Lok Sabha by-election and has allegedly turned to the AIUDF for support.
Speaking at a programme in Nagaon, Gogoi said the Congress was confident of receiving the support of opposition parties in the by-election. He appealed to voters to strengthen the hands of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in the Lok Sabha.
Gogoi also urged Congress workers and supporters to remain united and work towards strengthening the party’s position in the constituency.
The Nagaon Lok Sabha by-election is expected to see a keen contest, with political parties stepping up preparations and outreach ahead of polling.
