Guwahati: Assam has achieved 100 per cent electrification of its railway network with the completion of electrification work on the 169-km Lumding-Badarpur Hill Section.

The milestone marks the completion of Assam’s railway electrification journey and is expected to strengthen sustainable rail connectivity across the state.

The electrification of the strategically important hill section is also seen as a major step towards improving the state’s railway infrastructure and promoting cleaner and more efficient rail transport.

The development further strengthens Assam’s connectivity with other parts of the country through an electrified railway network.
