Silchar: An awareness and motivational programme on the “Role of CRPF in Nation Building” was organised at Silchar Medical College & Hospital (SMCH) to familiarise students and faculty members with the role of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in national security and public service.

The programme was attended by around 300 students and faculty members. Brigadier Bikram Singh, Principal of the CIAT School, CRPF, Silchar, addressed the gathering. The programme was conducted by Dr Biswadeep Chaudhary and facilitated by Dr Vikash Sandilya, Medical Superintendent, SMCH.

During his interaction with the students, Brigadier Singh spoke about the CRPF’s role in internal security, public safety, disaster response, assistance to civil administration and democratic processes. He also highlighted the force’s contribution towards maintaining national unity and integrity.

He stressed the role of doctors and young people in nation building and encouraged students to maintain physical fitness, develop hobbies, take care of their mental well-being and uphold discipline and responsible citizenship.

The achievements of two women Head Constables of the CRPF who have represented India in international sports were also highlighted as examples of dedication, perseverance and excellence.

The programme also focused on the need for greater interaction between security forces and the medical fraternity. As a gesture of appreciation, mementoes were presented to faculty members of SMCH.

The programme concluded with a message emphasising service, discipline, healthy living and collective responsibility towards nation building.
