SILCHAR: Prof. Manoj Kumar Sinha, Professor and Head of the Department of Library and Information Science and Dean of the Swami Vivekananda School of Library Sciences, Assam University, Silchar, has been conferred with the Academic Excellence Award–2026 by the Social Development Federation (SDF), Agra, Uttar Pradesh, on the occasion of Teachers’ Day.

The award recognises Prof. Sinha’s contributions to higher education and research, as well as his continued academic and professional engagement in Library and Information Science.

Expressing gratitude for the honour, Prof. Sinha thanked the SDF, Agra, and the jury members for recognising his contributions. He also acknowledged the support of his family, friends, colleagues and well-wishers.

Prof. Sinha dedicated the award to his teachers and mentors, whose guidance and encouragement, he said, have played an important role in shaping his academic and professional journey.
