DHUBRI: A search and seizure operation by the State Goods and Services Tax (SGST) department at Jain Store, a prominent trading establishment in Dhubri town, continued for the fourth consecutive day on Saturday.
The operation began on October 7 and is being conducted by a team of SGST officials from Guwahati, assisted by personnel from the department’s Dhubri unit. According to sources, the searches have covered the store’s main business premises in the Dhanpatti area, as well as warehouses reportedly linked to the establishment at various locations across the town.
The operation has also extended to a multi-storey residential building in Ward No. 2 belonging to the proprietor. Officials continued their scrutiny of the property on Saturday. The prolonged operation has drawn attention in Dhubri, with officials continuing their examination of the business premises, warehouses and residential property.
The department has not yet made any official statement on the findings of the operation or the reasons behind the searches.
